Challenge #1: transfer the experience of a real classroom to streaming.

Challenge #1: transfer the experience of a real classroom to streaming.

Context

Study is one of our projects Now in the Kitchen (projects that are in the development phase). It is the first EdTech that offers support classes with teachers live streaming in real time. We call it "The Twitch of intelligent training". Here you can see the complete case study.

Problem

In Studie, where the content of the streams is more educational than simply recreational, it doesn't make much sense to use only the traditional mode of communication (chat) since it tends to be quite chaotic (especially when there are many people commenting), making it almost impossible to maintain a conversation that adds value to both parties.

Furthermore, in educational streams, as there is no physical presence in a traditional classroom, the face-to-face communication and interaction between peers is lost, which can hinder the learning and motivation of students, as they may feel alone and misunderstood.

Solution: Chat

The classic chat of streaming platforms but adapted to educational needs.

The chat is active by default at the beginning and end of the stream, to replicate those class exchanges where students chat while waiting for the teacher or while changing classes.

The streamer can deactivate it once they are about to start the class, or they can leave it active if the content of the stream requires it.

Solution: EmoRanking

During the development of a class, students experience a variety of emotions, ranging from boredom to motivation, but since each student is at home, these emotions are not perceptible to the other users.

With the Emo Ranking, users can express how they feel at that moment in relation to the stream (bored, happy, motivated, confused, etc.). Emotions will be sorted from the most feeling to the least, so all users can see what the mood of the class is, and the streamer can also take it into account.

Additionally, with the emotion "grateful," users can show their gratitude to the streamer by donating bolts directly.
